We are pleased to support this years, St. Marys Church flower festival.
A little piece of history. We recently sold a car to one of our older customers, who bought in one of his previous invoices. How times have changed…
Additional signage to advertise our email address and to verify our stock by having company presence in car sales photographs for online advertising.
I said I’d post some karting photographs to a customer, so here they are. Back to 1999 to 2002. Mainly racing 100cc direct drive karts. Engines would rev to around 19,000 rpm and need a new piston & ring every 1.5 hours! Before Karting went mainstream with the introduction of motorbike based 125cc engines with clutches & water cooling like the Rotax Max. I won 2001 100cc Libre Championship at Hoddesdon Kart Club (Rye House) and was runner up at 2002 100cc Libre Championship at Hunts Kart Racing Club (Kimbolten).
Problem solved! Well temporarily. For those customers who get a puncture with no spare wheel. We can now come out and fit our own multi-fit space saver wheel, as used by the AA. Spare wheel kits are available from most manufacturers for those who don’t like the idea of having no spare wheel.
New locking wheel nut bags. Please keep your locking wheel nut in glove box or spare wheel tool kit. Many an hour has been lost hunting for these!
Introduction of carbon-less ‘Pre-sales Inspection’ check sheet. Now all sales cars get a copy left in service book. Gives brake pad / shoe and tyre depths as well as antifreeze, air conditioning, battery & brake fluid strengths and levels.
Archive pictures of my 1972 MGB Roadster completely rebuilt using new ‘heritage’ bodyshell in 1999. A year in the making and very helpful to complete my apprenticeship and training. Later sold to fund Kart racing.
A rather confusing news article by the ‘Walden Local’, suggesting we are building houses on our premises. We were flooded with phone calls from customers and the news paper had to correct themselves with a front page apology the following week. We would like to thank our customers for their concerns and business over the years. It’s that business that keeps up here. Thank you.
1970 Edition of ‘Saffron Walden Borough Directory’. Saffron Walden has gone from 5 franchised dealers selling new cars to 2 independent used car dealer. Ourselves and ‘Debden Road Service Station’ remaining.
Replacing old heavy manually operated sliding workshop door for electric insulated roller door. Saving time and heating bills.
Stumbled across these pictures this week. My restoration of a 1959 Greeves Scottish Trails bike when I was in my late teens, approx 1996. Unfortunately I sold the bike to fund my MGB Roadster restoration. This is the one I wish I had kept.
A few archive pictures. Firstly ‘Walden Motors’ & ‘Hobbs Bros’ advertising on front of ‘Viceroy’ bus approx 1950’s. Secondly Maurice Hobbs, second from right following his passion of grass track motor bikes racing. Third & fourth are pictures of Maurice outside ‘Hobbs Bros’ pre-1960.
